Technical Information

Presenting author(s) must register before 25th of February 2022 to ensure publication of their abstract in the ESCMID eLibrary and on the dedicated congress platform. (Not applicable for latebreaker abstracts)

ECCMID 2022 offers not only the well-known session types, but also features some new session formats. Please find here a summary of all ECCMID 2022 invited programme session types. Abstract session descriptions can be found here.

To get more information and technical details on your abstract session, please click on the corresponding session types below.

The programme will feature 3 types of oral presentation sessions:

  • Two-hour oral session: includes up to ten speakers with 12 minutes per speaker (10 min presentation + 2 min discussion after each presentation)

  • One-hour oral session / One-hour case session: includes up to five speakers; 12 minutes per speaker (10 min presentation + 2 min discussion after each presentation)

  • Mini-oral flash session: one-hour session including up to 9 speakers; 6 minutes per speaker (4 min presentation + 2 min discussion after each presentation, presentation with max 3 slides), closing with a 5 min final discussion at the end of the session

Presentation technology

The lecture hall will be equipped with a laptop and a data projector. To assure high-quality service and a near seamless transition between different talks and speakers, a network-based presentation system will be used along with a conference specific interface. Talks presented onsite in Lisbon will also be live-streamed to the congress platform if held in a session hall. Sessions taking place in the Arenas will be recorded and put into the on-demand section of the platform but NOT live-streamed.

Presentation format

Only presentations in MS-PowerPoint (*.ppt and *.pptx) with a screen ratio of 16:9 will be accepted.

Find here an example of the disclosure slide.

More details on the presentation format and technical rules will follow in March 2022.

Here you can find the PowerPoint templates that are available for speakers to use when creating their presentations.

Speaker Ready Room

Once on-site, a speakers' ready room will be available every day throughout the congress, more details on this room will follow in March 2022.

Due to the hybrid nature of ECCMID 2022, poster sessions will occur simultaneously online and onsite. We are offering poster presenters two options for participation in the poster sessions:

Online poster (slides (.pdf) and/or video (.mp4)) only – this poster presentation mode is mandatory if you choose to present your poster in the congress

Onsite (Paper Poster) plus online poster (slides (.pdf) and/or video (.mp4))

Online Poster:

Online Posters are 3-4 slides in .pdf format and/or a short self-recorded video.

For videos, in format .mp4, the recommended resolution is 1280x720px and the maximum file size is 3 GB (maximum length of 5 minutes). The link to upload an online poster will be provided after registration is completed.

Only registered presenting authors will be sent a link for upload of their poster, together with  all necessary technical information on the 28th of February, or immediately following their registration if registering after this date.

Examples of online poster videos can be found in the ESCMID eLibrary (examples from ECCVID, 2020).

Please find here a short explanation on how to upload your files, and a guide for recording your video here.

The deadline for uploading all online material (PDFs and Videos) is 28 March 2022.

When uploading your poster, you will be given the choice of whether or not to accept questions from online participants.
An explanation of the process of asking questions can be found here.
