Art Gallery
Following the success of ECCMID 2021, ESCMID is pleased to host the ECCMID Art Gallery once again for ECCMID 2022! We collected a plethora of fantastic original art pieces from around the ESCMID community ranging from poetry to agar art which will be exhibited onsite in the ESCMID World Village and also organised in an online art gallery. Thank you to everyone who submitted and enjoy the creative side of ESCMID!
Badges
All participants and exhibitors are required to wear their badges throughout the congress. Access to the scientific sessions will only be possible with your personal name badge. We charge 100 EUR for replacement of a lost badge. For any name change, we charge a fee of 50 EUR.
Bank/ATM
Banks are open to the public between 8:30 – 15:00 (Monday-Friday). There is a national network of ATMs, identified as MB (Multibanco), where you can take cash out 24/7. Two ATMs are available in the FIL: one inside the lobby, close to the central entrance doors, and another inside Pav. 3 between the glass doors entrance and the Pavilion itself. In Altice Arena there is one Multibanco (MB) in the arena level, near one of the bars in Hall A. As a note, Monday 25 April 2022 is a national holiday so access may be restricted on this day.
Cameras and Recordings
Electronic recording or excessive photography of presentation slides is prohibited in all lecture halls during all sessions.
Certificates
Certificates of attendance (not including CME credits) are available from Monday morning, 25 April 2022. They can be printed at the print stations in the registration area, using the barcode on your name badge. For CME Certificates please check CME Accreditation.

CME Accreditation
The 32nd European Congress of Clinical Microbiology and Infectious Diseases, Lisbon, Portugal, 23/04/2022-26/04/2022 has been accredited by the European Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (EACCME®️) with 30 European CME credits (ECMEC®️s). To collect a CME Certificate participants need to connect to the CME Platform (cme.eccmid.org) and log in with their ESCMID account. The points of the sessions need to be claimed individually and a general survey needs to be filled out until 10 July 2022.
Congress Registration
Upon receipt of the correct registration fee, each participant has received a confirmation of registration by email. Please bring your registration confirmation with the barcode and go directly to the badge self-print stations in the registration area of the congress centre.
Delegates who are booked through a group registration will receive the information on how their badge and congress material will be distributed through their group coordinator.
For a new congress registration please follow the signs to “New Registration” within the registration area. You may pay by credit card (Visa, MasterCard, Amex). Cash payments in euro will only be accepted at the secretariat.

COVID-19 Safety Measures
ESCMID is closely monitoring the situation and is keeping in close contact with the local health authorities and the venue to ensure the health and safety of all onsite participants of ECCMID 2022 in Lisbon, Portugal. Masks need to be worn at all times in the congress area (except for when eating or drinking) and we encourage all attendees to keep some distance between each other with helpful stickers all around the congress area. We will also have a special cleaning team that will circulate both venues disinfecting surfaces and areas throughout the congress times.
Currency
All official prices are indicated in euro (EUR, €), the official currency of Portugal. All major credit cards are accepted in most hotels, restaurants and shops.
Electricity Supply
In Portugal, power plugs and sockets are of type F and follow the European standard of 230V and 50Hz. It is recommended for attendees from the USA, Canada and a large part of South America that have a 100-127V system, to include a power plug adapter/ voltage converter.
Emergency
In the event of an emergency, dialling 112 from any phone will connect you to the police dispatch center. The dispatch center redirects the call accordingly for the type of emergency to the appropriate emergency services.
Escape room
As part of the first online ECCMID, we introduced a virtual escape room which gathered a lot of great feedback. We are happy to continue the ECCMID escape room this year with a new story! The escape room will be in pavilion 4 and groups can book their timeslots onsite during the opening hours. Take on the challenge together testing once again your infectious disease knowledge and puzzle solving skills.

ESCMID Booth

ESCMID Manual
The ESCMID-SFM Manual of Clinical Microbiology is a jointly produced hard-copy publication by ESCMID and SFM. In 2010 a popular French Manual of Microbiology was published by SFM. The new manual is based upon the original French manual, but has been updated and adapted for Europe. There are 52 chapters covering essential information in clinical microbiology. The launch of the Manual was at the ECCMID 2012 in London. On-site, the manual is available for purchase from the ESCMID Booth.
At ECCMID 2022 it will be the last time that the book is for sale. You'll be able to purchase a copy onsite for 10 EUR while supply lasts, so be sure to secure your copy there.

Insurance
The congress organisers accept no liability for any injuries sustained, or any property loss or damage during, or as a result of, the congress. Please ensure that your own insurance is valid.
Lactation Room
A lactation room will be available, where hygiene supplies and private spaces are provided for parents who are registered participants in the congress.
Upon entering the PTMC building, on your right, you will find the Lactation Room.
Entry to the lactation room is subject to all regular congress entry regulations (congress badge and wearing of a face mask).
Feeding children are permitted to enter the congress venue with their parent to travel to and from the lactation room only.
Please note that children are not permitted in any session halls, exhibition areas or adjoining spaces at ECCMID.
Language
The official language of the congress is English. Simultaneous translation will not be provided.
Lost and found
Items that are found at the event will be collected by the ECCMID staff and will be kept at the Registrations Service Desk. Should you lose or find any personal belongings, we kindly ask you to visit this desk to report or collect the items.
Mobile Phone Policy
Please respect the meeting policy and switch your mobile phones to silent in all sessions.

Parking
The closest carpark to the Altice Arena is the TEJO Park, right at the end of Rua do Bojador. The Parque das Nações also has several other parks where you can leave your vehicle.
Photographs
The official ECCMID photographers and video crew will be on-site during the whole event and you may be filmed or photographed by the organiser or a representative thereof. ECCMID or its associates reserve the right to use your image for promotional purposes on its website, print media or in other advertising on other unlimited channels. By attending the ECCMID 2022, you consent and agree to this.
Pipeline Corner
The Pipeline Corner has become a regular and popular ECCMID session type where small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) from Europe and overseas present their research projects and product pipeline. For 2022, two Pipeline Corner sessions are planned, one for Diagnostic Developments taking place 23 April, and one for Therapeutics Development taking place 25 April. You can see the programme details in the Scientific Programme.

Prayer Room

Press Centre
Press registration is complimentary and includes all privileges of regular registration. Members of the press who qualify for press registration and who have been pre-registered may contact the onsite registration at the congress venue to get their press badge.
Only journalists or reporters, writers or editors with credentials from a journal, newspaper, magazine, radio or TV station, wire service, or other news organization can be accredited.
Freelancers must present proof from a news organization that assigned them to cover the meeting. Freelancers wishing to cover ECCMID on a speculative basis are asked to request accreditation in writing, using their letterhead.
Please note that delays may occur for journalists on-site that have not pre-registered.

Publication – ESCMID eLibrary
All accepted abstracts, electronic versions of posters as well as presentations are accessible on the ECCMID online platform for the first 3 months before being moved to the ESCMID eLibrary where members will be able to access the material for a year before it is opened to the public. There is no printed abstract book or CD available. You can already find previous year’s material in the eLibrary now.

Transport
Airport - FIL & Altice Arena:
The subway red line takes you from the airport to the congress venue (stop “Oriente”). The journey lasts less than 10 minutes and this line departs every 7 minutes. Also, the bus line 744 runs every 15-20 minutes between the airport and the congress venue (stop “Est. Oriente”). The bus ride takes around 10 minutes.
City centre – FIL & Altice Arena:
The congress venue is located approximately 30 minutes by public transport from Lisbon city centre. Its proximity to Orient Train Station guarantees excellent connections to the city centre by train, bus and subway.
Travel Grants
ESCMID awarded 120 ECCMID Travel Grants to the best abstracts from young scientists who applied. Further details and criteria can be found on the ESCMID website.
Water
Tap water in Portugal is safe to drink and the water in Lisbon is of an excellent quality. Attendees are encouraged to bring their own water bottles to the congress to reduce waste. You can read more on the water quality here.
´Wi-Fi
During ECCMID 2022 a complementary wifi is offered in all areas. To provide the best service, this wifi is only available on 5GHz. There will be no wifi on 2.4GHz available.
